"When you stop measuring the day by how productive you were (or weren’t) and shift instead to how much presence you experienced, you’ll begin freeing yourself from the story of not being enough." this was my favourite - thank you Kevin 💖
Yes, I loved it too. I saw a Clint Eastwood movie once, at least 40 years ago, and always remembered this line: "Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one".
This was a welcome read for me. I don't even know how I found you but when I saw the word "wild" in your profile I just knew it would be worth reading. Glad to have found you! And YES to all the bullets in your list! 😊
I love these, as wisdom often arrives in the form of short phrases for me as well. "You can only find your voice by using it" — of course resonates as a fellow writer. I can tell you've probably read "The Courage to be Disliked" as well -- great read, and it's a powerful lesson.

Just discovered you're back online after your ghost years (which is to say.. I noticed!) but I am glad to hear your break was beneficial. As someone who's grown up chronically online I can feel my break slowly bubbling to the surface and I'm just fighting through the screen addiction to get to the point where I give in and delete everything for awhile. But in the meantime it's good to have you back, Kevin! I always loved getting your old newsletters and still appreciate all the knowledge and encouragement I got from your work in my younger years. Looking forward to what you have to share while you're here to share it again ☺️
Mickaela! It's so wonderful to see your name pop up here. I'm glad our paths crossed again. Yeah, taking a long break was exactly what I needed most, especially after so many years in marketing, publishing, and entertainment management. I hope you see you around a lot here!

Well, said Kevin. A manifesto to live by.
🙏
I needed all of this. Entering "mostly ghostly" phase myself. Thank you. 🙏
So glad this encouraged you, Janet. And I'm thrilled to hear that you discovering your own way.
Thank you for sharing these insights! I will definitely be coming back to them!
You’re very welcome!
So many gems here. Thanks Kevin!
"Knowledge is learning new, useful ideas. Wisdom is unlearning old, useless ones."
Thanks Mo!
Thank you! I love all of these, and as I have gotten older, I also live by a lot of these ways of Being.

Hi Kristi (and welcome)! I'm glad you found me, too. 😉 Help yourself to whatever you can find in the fridge...er, Substack.
Gladly!

I haven't read "The Courage to Be Disliked" yet, but you're the second or third person to tell me about it. I'll definitely check it out!
Well, you don’t really need to, as the book is pretty straightforward, and you clearly got the message on your own!
Just added it to my queue! Thanks for the recommendation. Sounds like it would still be worth reading. : )
it is... and remains near the top of my modern philosophy reading list

Absolutely killer. King of the philosophical one-liner. Great stuff, Kev.
