Wonderful post, Kevin. I totally agree that our only goal in life is to make the unconscious, conscious. Every person, event and circumstance is there for us to do so.

Thanks Mo! No matter where we turn or look, life is a mirror.

Kevin, your narrative adds a relatable touch, emphasizing the universal struggle of balancing authentic expression with societal expectations. It's a profound reminder to embrace life's journey with openness and curiosity, allowing its lessons to illuminate the path to self-realization.

And... I know you speak from direct experience on this point. *deep bow*

You're so right about pointing out those two orientations to life: openness and curiosity. That is the way.

I love this! You have laid out for us such a practical way to listen to our lives to discover our true identity and reason we are alive!

“From this perspective, Life itself becomes an exercise in “doing the Work” and every person, circumstance, and experience becomes a mirror reflecting back to you where you’re not free.”

Thanks Kevin!

Thanks Wayne. Yeah, if we never another book, watched another video, or attended another retreat for the rest of our lives, we have everything we need to learn and grow. And it’s all right under our noses!

This really resonates Kevin! Everyone and everything in our lives is a partner for our growth. At the same time, living with this as a reality is very tough and thus most people don’t choose this path.

It is tough, but only on the ideas and beliefs we have about ourselves and others. You're right, that's why most people are subconsciously more committed to their limitations than experiencing the discomfort of freedom. : )

Do you think freedom can become comfortable? Have you reached any level of comfort with it?

I do. In fact, I think the very nature of freedom is ease, which I guess you could call comfort. If someone accused me of being an purple elephant, I have zero investment in that idea (I'm definitely not an elephant), so I experience zero discomfort or offense. I'm free of that idea.

Reading my last comment, I would re-phrase it to the "discomfort of freeing ourselves from our ideas." That's the uncomfortable part: freeing ourselves. And even then it's the mind that learn to be okay.

So true! It’s kind of shocking that with all of the therapy, self help and counseling of today this isn’t recognized more. These are themes that I care passionately about and I really appreciated the practicality of this essay! Thank you.
